Törmäsin tällaiseen mukavaan suomalaiseen blogiin jossa kirjoitetaan arjesta lasten kanssa. Siellä on meneillään arvonta johon voit osallistua jättämällä kommentin, käyhän katsomassa. Minäkin osallistun!
Olen miettinyt, että viime aikoina olen ollut entistä innostuneempi lukemaan (yllätys?!) lapsiaiheisia blogeja, ehkäpä oman blogini lukulista pitäisi päivittää? Kuitenkaan en tahtoisi tästä omastani ihan pelkästään Eekasta kertovaa opusta vaan ajattelin, että laitan jatkossakin kuvia ja uutisia Karuskista aina kun on jotain uutta näytettävää. Koitan jatkaa tällä linjalla...

I came across this nice Finnish blog which talks about everyday life with kids. They're having a draw/giveaway, go ahead and leave a comment there if you like, international readers are welcome to join!
I've been more interested in reading kid related blogs lately (surprise?!), perhaps I should update my blog roll soon? Even though I post pics of Eeka here I try not to make my blog a baby blog only. So I try to have some Karuski news and photos available for you anytime I come up with new stuff, ok....

Happy Sunday / Giveaway Winner
Hello Sunday,
The weekend has been just great
warm and relaxing
I've been reading
and planting the runner beans to the ground
I didn't wash the windows upstairs
but I baked a meringue cake
And I did draw the winner for my giveaway:
There were 26 participants and the lucky winner
was number 11: Evelyn
I have contacted her via email
For the cake, I made meringue with
2 egg whites + 1,5 dl sugar + 1 teaspoon white vinegar
filling is whipped cream with a bit of sugar, vanilla and lemon juice
I sliced 1/2 pear and a few strawberries, too
would serve 4-5 persons
super easy and tasty
I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Give-away news!
Hi everyone!
I haven't been blogging since Monday. It's because I've been ill all week, I got a nasty flu right after I got back home from craft shows. Yes, that's right but it is getting better now.
I received a postal delivery note to my mailbox on Tuesday and went to PO the next day. There was a little envelope sent from Argentina for me.
Look at the cute stamp it had on the top!

There were sweet round hoop earrings inside the package. Made by Miss Bird.

I simply cannot stop smiling when I see that little girl with a bird!

Maria of Miss Bird is an Argentinean crafter with a line of pretty jewelry and accessories. I won this lovely pair from a give-away which was drawn at ESEtsy's blog in April. What a great way to make friends with a fellow Etsian who lives on the other side of the globe. I'm surely feeling enlightened now. Gracias Maria!
Oh, and if you wish to win a Karuski purse, here's your chance. Thanks to generous Nicole I've been on a spotlight at Lillyella this week. Leave your feedback by Sunday 2nd May as that's the day when the give-away ends. Thanks & good luck!

Poll Results & Giveaway Winner

It's about the time to announce the winner for my giveaway, yay!
The winning number out of 33 comments is... tadadaa... #21 which belongs to Fleurfatale. Congratulations! She will get to choose a pair of earrings of her choice from my Etsy.
In a poll you liked my double dahlia embellishment the best (63,9%), the second was a white dahlia with brown lace (31,1%) and the third place was left for the big white bow (4,9%). Altogether 61 votes were casted. All your comments are valuable to me, thanks for them. Chances are, big clutches with double adornments will appear in my shop pretty soon. Maybe a few will get a dahlia with a piece of lace too. Thanks again!
ps. If you really wished to win but didn't I would love to offer you -20% off on any earrings in my shoppe. Just contact me by Sunday Feb 28th.
edit: Just a little accident happened! Last five comments didn't appear in the comments section but for unknown reason they were awaiting for being moderated (the moderating hasn't been turned on so I wasn't aware of this until now). I'm so sorry you guys were not included in the drawing. To make this up I'll send a little surprise to you paperfection, babongo, roroism, annemiek & cupofsnowflakes_graphics. Will contact you personally on Thursday!

Sweet Package

Finally I got a chance to show you this: a lovely gift I won from a give-away few weeks ago. I got to choose something worth $45 from Bebe & Alice's shop and I chose this beautiful scarf made from recycled fabric circles. Also, in addition to this I was allowed to pick little something extra so I asked for a birdie ornament I had received from Heather earlier. This new one shall be a Christmas gift to someone special (so hard to give it go though!). Heather even added few fabric scraps for inspiration. Actually, we've been chatting about having a small co-operation project next year, you'll hear more about it soon, I'm sure. Yeah, and it's so funny it was me to win this give-away as we are already friends, thanks to Etsy!
If you like what you just saw, have a look around Bebe & Alice's. It's a great place, I can tell ya!

wool wrapped bangles by mysticfibers
crochet flower choker by thebroochboutique
It's a little bit foggy Monday, there's still some snow on the ground. A gray day wont let me down today, I got few lovely emails this morning which cheered me up! First, I had won a lovely buntle of lace from pikkuZAKKA's giveaway. Second, I had won a gift certificate worth 45$ to Bebe & Alice's store. This was from a giveaway on ClothPaperStiches' blog. I feel too lucky now. Go, read the article about fantastic Heather of Bebe & Alice, she's just so great.
Also, I want to thank all my latest customers who left me some praising Etsy feedback. You are all so wonderful!

Thank You Greet!
Just about a week ago I made a purchase from my fellow EST team member Greet of FleurFatale. Today I received my little brooch and so much more, oh dear! I can't express well enough how surprised I was while opening my package. She had included another sweet brooch there along many cute paper tags, post cards AND a gift certificate AND a collage made by her! By the way, I just love the title of the collage "talking teapots", isn't that cute?
All those surprises were part of Greet's celebration for reaching her 1000th sale. She wanted to send away five goodie bags, two of them with 20 $ gift certificate to her shop. So I was one of those lucky ones!
Lovely Water Lily Brooch little & paper tags Greet included along my order
Thank you Greet, I'm sure you will soon double your sales, so great and beautiful handmade jewelry you have in your shoppe! You are such a sweetheart!!

Good Luck Continues

Last week I received an email from Devi of Glasfaden. She did let me know I had won something from a guessing game she held on her blog just a little ago. I was terribly busy preparing for my craft show and didn't even have time to check her blog back then. But this Monday I got a parcel from her and what did she send me?! The sweetest necklace she had made. I love the way Devi had given a deep thought all the way making this piece. Not only the necklace is beautiful but the display as well. So when I'm not wearing this "dreamcather" I will have it as a wall decoration. And the message "fly, hope" it sends is much appreciated too. Isn't it wonderful? I hope she will make similar pieces to her shop too. I'm sure many would love to purchase a wearable dreamcatcher as a sweet gift for oneself or a loved one.
Thank you Devi!

Surprises Are Good For You!

This week I've been neglecting my blog, feel a bit bad about it but I really needed a break, there was too much to do. In the beginning of the week I worked with a bunch of shoulder bags for a shoppe in North Finland and got them mailed out on Wednesday. Then we made a little wheel trip, stayed at a lovely tiny summer cottage H's sister bought some time ago, visited annual Art Festival in Central Finland and just enjoyed a nice weather. But what was waiting for me when we returned home: a beautiful journal I won from Kreativlink's give-away!
I just noticed this is my third posting about give-away surprises I have received this summer. How lucky I have been just lately! Even though I'm not very much a material girl surprises like this make me happy. Renate behind Kreativlink is a fellow Etsian and a member of EuropeanStreetTeam so I have had good chances seeing the process of her handbound journals almost on daily basis. Besides her journal shop, she also runs another one which offers watercolor paintings and small objects. Thank you Renate!

Swap News

By the way, Estella and Esther are so devoted online store owners that besides Star of the East they have opened two additional Etsy shops: Star of Supplies and Gifts & Stars. There are many, many sea inspired treasures in all of them.
Other thing, yesterday I finally created a Karuski fanpage on Facebook. If you wish to see what I'm up to, you can become a karuski "fan" right here. I promise not to spam you too often;)

Lovely Surprise

I'm truly happy to show you this. A couple of days ago mailman brought me something nice from Detroit, USA. It is a give-away gift I won from Tricia Tharp aka Frizz. The print is the most adorable "In the Woods at Night" illustrated by Tricia. As an extra surprise she even included a generous piece of her cotton print for me. Her work is perfect for children and child-minded like me. You can find her shop here. If you have a moment, take a look at her blog too. Thank you Tricia!

Surprise Gift

In May I entered a give-away on Matilou's blog. Anne aka Matilou had illustrated a beautiful wedding invitation for her clients and wanted her blog readers to find hidden things drawn on this invitation. It was pretty cryptic but fun and my guessing was almost perfect. Meaning I didn't win the give-away but Anne was kind enough to send me a little surprise: A bagde with her sweet bird print. And I love birds so what would a better surprise gift for me?! Thanks Anne, merci!
p.s. You can find lovely badges and illustrations and jewelry at Matilou's cute shoppe.
