Season Delights
If you are an avid mushroom hunter like me and if you are lucky to find loads of wild mushrooms in the forest here is a tip: preserve them by drying. Can you believe this 1/2 liter glass jar contains 4-5 large boletus mushrooms? These will make several delicious soups this fall and upcoming winter!
By slicing them thin + drying mushrooms turn really tiny. You save a lot of space and their flavour gets even better and more intense by this preserving method. I kept them in the oven at 45 celsius for approximately 5 hours but the time varies and if you use air drying the time naturally gets longer. The most important thing is to dry them at a low heat [max. 50 celsius] until they are crispy so that there is no moisture left.
Always make sure you know which mushrooms are edible and which ones are hazarous. Learn about different preserving methods on different specimens. Consult a wild mushroom book or someone who is an expert on this field.
Enjoy the mushroom season!

I think many of you know by now autumn is my favorite season. Especially sunny days with a modest temperature make me want to have a walk in the woods. On a rainy day I love to stay indoors and enjoy a cup of tea with home baked cupcakes or berry pie. The best thing is to see the nature turning its coat into beautiful shades of brown, red and yellow.
Last week I mentioned about a new project I started to work with. Now, I have finished two laptop sleeve prototypes and will show them to my wholesale customer this week. Perhaps I can share pictures with you soon.
Have a wonderful week!

My Creative Space
I got started with a new wholesale project. It is about making custom laptop sleeves. Here are fabrics I have picked to start with: recycled canvases in lovely teal, mustard and mossy green. Still haven't quite decided about the lining but one choice is white towelling [I know, sounds strange yet exciting!]. I'm going to give a try. I am in the middle of sketching and experimenting so stay tuned for updates.

Hello Monday!
Although we are still enjoying warm and [partly] sunny days there is definitely autumn in the air. You know how it feels and smells; something little crispier and fresher than in the midst of the summer. I must say autumn is my favorite season of all four. I feel lucky to have all four seasons here in Finland.
Yesterday we went for mushroom hunting. We found lots of chanterelles and other delicious fungi. It would be lovely to pay a visit to a forest every weekend. I love those mossy places!
Have a great week everyone!

Photoshoot Fun
I went to see a good old friend of mine this weekend. We had a fun time catching up with each other + we got creative and productive with a photoshoot. Here are just a few pictures she took and hey look, one of her cats is there too.
I haven't been using much of my Flickr account lately but I just added few more photos from this weekend there now. Have a look if you like!
How was your weekend, did you do anything special?

My Creative Space
It's been a while since I posted about my creative space. Feels great to say something is happening in my studio again!
Last weekend I picked fabrics for five new clutches and they are finished now. Now I got started with photoediting and even made a couple of new listings for my Etsy shoppe. More to come soon.
Those sweet little flower props I'm using in these pictures arrived in mail just this week. It was a surprise gift from a friend who was cleaning her studio and decided to do some recycling. And these are just a small part I discovered from her envelope. Thank you Eva!

Welcome Monday!
I haven't felt this good about Monday for a long time, I mean it. On Saturday I got started with new work and I'm happy to keep on working on those now.
Are your roses still blooming, did you see wildflowers in a meadow? My flowers in the garden are getting a few but our berry bushes are doing great. Gooseberries, black and red currants, I can go and pick them any day now. Bake a pie or two, make some jam too.
Have a lovely new week, see you soon again!
