Hi there,

How is your week going?
Tomorrow I'll be setting up a booth
at the Recycling Factory fair in Helsinki
*excited*

Last night I crafted a bunch of give-away packs
If you visit the Recycling Factory this weekend
find the info desk and fill in the questionary
lucky ones will win goodie packs
which include donations from exhibitors
You may get a Karuski surprise!

Happy Thursday everyone!

Somehow this week seems shorter to me
must be because of Easter Monday
which was a holiday here

It's been warm and nice all week
so I decided to make my creative space post
about gardening things

Tiny tomato seedlings got re-potted last weekend

I found these lovely rose gloves from a local gardening shop

Couldn't resist poppy and bean seeds, either

Ula is another anxious wanna-be gardener here

Other good news:
My studio space will get an interior magazine feature
I was interviewed this Tuesday *excited*

My Creative Space

Hi,

It's been a crazy busy week here.
I've been working on Team EcoEtsy's
upcoming Handmade Earth Day Auction graphics
Their online event starts next Monday.
Also, my taxes are due next Monday. Hurray.
I did finish two wholesale orders
and mailed them out on Thursday *happy*

I promised to show you some pictures from my renovated studio.
Here they come!

This week it's been so cold again:
-15 – 22 C in South and -30 – 35 C in North.
The sky has been blue and bright. No more snow storms or rain.
Sunshine is definitely bringing much needed extra energy *smile*

I picked some fabrics from my stash,
light colors to set my mind towards upcoming spring.

It's My Creative Space post today!

Last couple of days I've been tinkering with new promo material here.
I took a few new pictures, drafted a mini poster and got a new business card template as well.

What is mini poster you might be wondering.
People are always curious about the item and its background and also a person behind the item. So I came up with an idea of such a mini poster that I could deliver to those boutiques that sell Karuski collection. This comes in A5 size and will be framed nicely and placed next to Karuski purses and jewelry. I write a bit of myself and materials I use which play a major part in my design process. I could use this mini poster at my craft fair tables too.

How this week is flying by again!
I started playing with vintage ties [thanks aunt Maija for a donation!]
They will turn into headbands soon
I might not list them on my etsy
but bring them to my next fair in turku

Craft fair preps are going on here
So many things I need to finish for the holiday market
Sat + Sun this weekend, oy it comes soon!

Here are pricetags for my table
I made them by recycling kraft cardboard packages
Round stickers can be removed so these tags can be used again and again

A few samples of gifttags I made. They are also of recycled cardboards
Paper scraps, die cuts & paper doilies make the vintage feel I like

this project started a while back
now i am in the midst of it
cutting and sewing and fitting
karuski laptop sleeves will soon find their way to nudge
it is a lovely eco-conscious life style shop downtown helsinki
i went to see myself last week and liked a lot
it is not only about scratching the surface or greenwashing
they genuinely work in eco-friendly ways on daily basis
even the shop furniture was made of reclaimed materials
and of course, no sweat-shop produced stuff in this store
no rainforests cut down, either

My Creative Space

This glass jewelry box sits on a shelf in my studio. It used to belong to my grandma. For a long time I thought it looked far too romantic to my taste. Funny enough my taste has evolved during years and now I like it much, much more than I used to.


I haven't changed the contents. A few of granma's old treasures are still in there.

I photographed these vintage button earrings on the jewelry box today.

Lots of other new earrings got also photographed so I predict my Etsy shop gets an update soon.

My Creative Space

I got started with a new wholesale project. It is about making custom laptop sleeves. Here are fabrics I have picked to start with: recycled canvases in lovely teal, mustard and mossy green. Still haven't quite decided about the lining but one choice is white towelling [I know, sounds strange yet exciting!]. I'm going to give a try. I am in the middle of sketching and experimenting so stay tuned for updates.
