Monday Happyness

Hello and Happy Monday!

I've started to think about the upcoming holidays
and looked through my Etsy favorites
I noticed there're many, many things I'd love to
give to someone as a present or get for myself this X-mas.

Here're a few that make this Monday a happy one!

ps. This Saturday I'll be at holiday market in Billnäs
it'll probably be the only one I'm attending this year
I thought it would be nice to take it easy with craft fairs now.

Ihan viime aikoina olen alkanut ajattelemaan
tulevaa joulun aikaa ja kävin läpi mm. Etsy-suosikkejani
siellä on monia juttuja joita tahtoisin joko antaa jollekin
lahjaksi tai saada ehkä myös itselleni tänä jouluna.
Tässä vain muutama esimerkki joiden näkeminen
tekee tästä maanantaista kivan päivän!

ps. Tulevana lauantaina osallistun Billnäsin Joulu -tapahtumaan ja

Happy Monday,

The Midsummer weekend was great!
Even the weather turned out fine and
we didn't get any rain here in South.
We stayed at home
which was totally nice
We'll travel to the summer cabin
somewhere around July for sure.

I'm predicting my blog & shop will get
a little quiet in July.
I try to have some break
but it will actually be rather busy
behind the scenes because there's
one interesting project coming up in August
More about that in a bit!

After a rainy and rather chilly weekend
the sun is back *smile*
On the weekend I visited
an organic herbal garden & a gardening fair
I purchased vanilla basil
and pineapple sage

We got a beautiful, warm weekend

Hello, hello!

A new week is here again.
How was your weekend?
I relaxed quite a bit
and didn't work all that much.
There was a photography project to finish
but other than that I took it pretty easy.
On Sunday evening we had a chance
to see a great, great concert of Prince of Assyria.
He's a Swedish singer/song writer
with amazing voice and touching lyrics.

Hello Monday!

We had a lovely sunny weekend here *smile*
I'm almost done wallpapering and organizing my studio.
Perhaps I can show pictures in a few days time.

But guess what.
It started to snow again, it's true.
I can't pack my mittens and scarfs just yet.
But I keep on dreaming of spring!

Monday Moodboard

Hello, it's a new week again!

The weekend was really nice.
On Saturday we went to see an art exhibition in Fiskars village.
The exhibition itself wasn't all that great
but I loved the sunny weather and time spent with H.
We also planned some small home deco project:
wallpapering one wall in our bedroom.

Yesterday evening I started to update my site
and there's still some work to be done.
I really wish I had nice shots with a model.

Happy Valentine's Day!

It's freezing cold in Southern Finland today: -21 celsius so I'll be adding wood to our fireplace.

I spent the weekend in Stockholm with H and what a great time we had. I had a chance to meet with sweet Carolina yesterday. We met at Moderna Museet, visited the current exhibition, checked out the Architecture Museum and chatted with a cup of coffee. I'll post some pictures this week!

I also met Saori, my Japanese friend at the furniture fair, she had her work on display at Konstfack's space. We spent almost all day at the fair. There's always so much to see and the most inspiring things are usually exhibited by students. I absolutely want to share a few of my favorites later this week.

Hello Monday!

Did you have a nice weekend, what are your plans for this new week?
I talked to a new retailer prospect today and it seems I will be making another batch of purses soon. This is a new shop run by designers and craft loving people. They have formed a community to join the forces for promoting and selling Finnish art, craft & design. I make consignment deals very rarely these days but this one gives me warm feelings so I'm going to give a try.

Weekend was good, I hope you enjoyed yours.

Thanks to H, my family and friends (in real life & online alike) I had a wonderful birthday on Saturday!

Here are some lovely finds for you to start the week with, each made of vintage materials. My weak point is vintage and recycled fabric + vintage jewelry parts too. On Saturday I went to a local flea market and found a great black leather skirt. I was thinking to use it to make a few pouches just to find out it fits me. Now I need to re-think what to do with this skirt. Oh, and the best part is it did cost only 3 euros.

This new week started with freezing cold temperature (-20 c last night and -12 c this afternoon) and sunshine. I will make sure to have enough wood logs by the fireplace for sure.

The weekend was full of work as I attended a holiday craft market on Sat & Sun. Thanks everyone who stopped by at WeeGee and liked Karuski's table! Now I will start preparing for designmyyjäiset taking place in less than two weeks in Turku.

Hello Monday!
Although we are still enjoying warm and [partly] sunny days there is definitely autumn in the air. You know how it feels and smells; something little crispier and fresher than in the midst of the summer. I must say autumn is my favorite season of all four. I feel lucky to have all four seasons here in Finland.

Yesterday we went for mushroom hunting. We found lots of chanterelles and other delicious fungi. It would be lovely to pay a visit to a forest every weekend. I love those mossy places!

Welcome Monday!
I haven't felt this good about Monday for a long time, I mean it. On Saturday I got started with new work and I'm happy to keep on working on those now.

Are your roses still blooming, did you see wildflowers in a meadow? My flowers in the garden are getting a few but our berry bushes are doing great. Gooseberries, black and red currants, I can go and pick them any day now. Bake a pie or two, make some jam too.

We celebrated the Midsummer last weekend here in Finland. Luckily we did get only a little rain, we were blessed by the sunshine almost all weekend. It took 6,5 hours to drive from our home to my parents' summer cabin but it was all worth it. It is difficult to describe that blissful moment one can experience in a peaceful place by a lake and forest. Only activities you really need is a book or magazines, simple cooking, sauna & enjoying the scenery. I love it!

I wish you had a wonderful weekend, here is a start to a new week!
My weekend was filled with rock festival so now I could use something soft to balance my mood. On Saturday we went to Helsinki Live Festival, there were Michael Monroe (FIN), Danko Jones (CAN), Skunk Anansie (UK), White Lies (UK) and Guns N' Roses (USA) and I really enjoyed the energy these bands had to offer. Also, the weather was beautifully sunny, even that much I got some skin burn (not so beautiful).

It seems that a rainy weather we got on the weekend is here to stay. It must be good for the nature so I am not complaining any further! Perhaps these beauties in shades of turquoise will make our day a happy one!

I have noticed some of my Etsy friends, those who have been selling there for years have now decided to open independent shops and close their Etsy stores. I have also noticed it is so much harder to be seen on Etsy today. I have been doubting do I still have energy to make such big efforts for my shop there too. On the other hand I wouldn't like to quit the journey now because of a great and highly supportive community Etsy has to offer, I do love my customers and fellow sellers there! How do you feel about the current situation? Have you felt unmotivated to keep your Etsy shop active just lately? I would love to hear your voice on this matter.

It's Monday Moodboard time again!
Today I matched two gorgeous bags with sweet necklaces. Do you prefer burgundy/wine tones or light blooms? The great thing is all these picks are made from repurposed materials - Yay for recycling!

My weekend was busy as I spent it at craft fairs in Helsinki. Everything went well, there were lots of visitors around, sales were nice too. Below are just a few photos I took yesterday. I was planning my booth setup and appearance for this weekend's craft events. There are two fairs I'll be attending. On Friday evening a mini design market at Korjaamo. On Saturday and Sunday Kierrätystehdas at Kaapelitehdas. If you are in Helsinki, please stop by and have a chat!

Today I can see blue skies, what a delightful way to start a new week. So I would say my mood is light as my picks on my moodboard. All of these are found on Etsy's handmade category by using keywords 'europeanstreetteam' and 'recycled'. I hope you like them too.

The weekend passed by so quickly. I decided not to work much as my best friend celebrated her 35th on Saturday. It was nice to join her party. On Sunday I just managed to make a few new listings for my Supply Shop, that's all.

Today was a very foggy day in Southern Finland and I really loved it. This probably made me search for some dreamy picks for my moodboard. Although the earrings alone by SabiKrabi are gorgeous I very much like the way they are photographed too.

Plans for this week?
I'm afraid I now need to put all my energy on book keeping and taxes. There's not much time left until these must be done. It is very stressful and I so wish I still had my accountant to do this for me. Just have to think positive and hope this will teach me something valuable and make me stronger.
