Hei vain!

Viime kuussa unohtui laittaa kuvaa Eekasta tänne blogin puolelle,
mutta tässä olisi tuore otos hänestä nyt kun poika täytti 9kk.
Kovasti hän liikkuu ryömien omalla tyylillään ja uusin taito on kiipeily mihin vain sattuu pääsemään (esimerkkinä H:n kitarakotelo).
Seisominen matalaa pöytää ja sohvaa vasten onnistuu jo hyvin ja vilkuttaminenkin häneltä käy hienosti.
Kaikki siis täällä hyvin!

Hello there!

Last month I forgot to post a picture of Eeka to my blog
but here comes one now that he is already 9 months old.
He moves rather quickly crawling with his own unique style
and his newest skill is to climb everywhere he can
(for instance on H's guitar case).
He stands against low table and sofa
and waving hello goes really well, too.
In other words everything is fine here!

7 months

Eeka on nyt 7 kuukauden ikäinen, aika on taas lentänyt.
Meillä on kaikki hyvin, aika on vain kortilla,
blogissa on hyvin vähän päivityksiä.
Iltaisin olen tehnyt koruja ja välillä jopa ommellut,
tuotteita saa Karuskin jälleenmyyjiltä,voit ottaa myös minuun yhteyttä
jos jokin tietty tuote kiinnostaa ja haluat tilata.
Nettikauppani on vielä toistaiseksi kiinni.

Syyskuun lopulle on ehkä tulossa myyjäistapahtuma, siitä lisää pian...

Eeka is now 7 months old, time flies again.
Everything is fine over here, time is just short
and the blog gets updates only here and there.
In the evenings I've created jewelry, even sewn some pouches.
Karuski resellers have those in stock
and you can always contact me directly
if wanting to place an order.
My Etsy shop is still on vacation.

There might be a sales event coming up in September,
more about this soon...

3 Months

Eeka poikamme täytti juuri kolme kuukautta. Kylläpä aika lentää.
Hän voi hyvin, kasvaa ja kehittyy, hymyilee, leikkii ja ihmettelee
tehden meidät onnellisiksi ihan joka päivä.
Oma päivittäinen elämäni on kääntynyt ylösalaisin,
mutta hyvällä tavalla vain.

Eilen olimme neuvolan perhetapaamisessa,
siellä oli äitejä ja isiä vauvoineen
jotka ovat syntyneet nyt alkuvuodesta.
Se oli varmasti uutta ja jännää kaikille mukana olleille.
Hyvä tutustua uusiin pieniin ja suuriin ystäviin!

Eeka, our dear son is already 3 months old. Time is really flying.
He is doing great, growing and developing, smiling, playing, wondering and
making us happy with his presence every single day.
My daily life has turned upside down but in a good way.

Yesterday we went to a local meet up where were moms and dads
with their babies who were born in the beginning of this year.
It was new and exciting for everyone, I'm sure.
Good to make new friends, for parents and babies alike!

Eeka Henrinpoika

Long time no see... 

We've been busy with the baby boy here. 

He is 9 weeks old now!

We didn't reveal his name until this week. 

It is because we wanted to do it a special way and decided to do it 

with handmade cards and a photo of three of us.

I was lucky to find a local source for our needs. 

We had a wonderful collaboration card project 

with Annika from Studio Unicco.

She made beautiful letterpress cards for us, we prepared a photo 

and she provided matching envelopes. 

Henri made a punch and we assembled 35 cards last Wednesday.

I plan to put together a post about letterpress, 

it's such a charming old craft method. Stay tuned!

Täällä on ollut hiljaista viime aikoina,
vauva on pitänyt meidät aika kiireisinä,
hän on jo 9 viikon ikäinen!

Emme ole kertoneet pojan nimeä kuin vasta tällä viikolla.
Halusimme tehdä sen erityisellä tavalla, käsintehdyllä kortilla jossa
olisi kuva meistä kolmesta.

Onnekseni löysin Studio Uniccon joka valmistaa kortteja
perinteisellä kohopainotekniikalla.
Me otimme ja teetimme kuvan ja
Annika toimitti meille kortit kirjekuorineen.
Henri teki lävistäjän ja kasasimme 35 korttia keskiviikkoillan aikana.

Ajattelin kirjoittaa erillisen postauksen kohopainotekniikasta
ihan lähiaikoina joten pysyhän kuulolla!

Sunday Happiness

Hello!
I noticed yesterday it's been 11 years since I met with H
As we haven't got married we don't have an official anniversary date
but we have put 18th February to our calendar
as it does hold some special meaning to us
I can't believe time has been flying this fast
but here we are together and happy
And what could better on this stormy Sunday today than
nesting below blankets with Mini ♥
(We're also making a nice project
which will soon end with revealing baby's real name!)

Huomasin eilen, että 11 vuotta on kulunut siitä kun tapasin H:n kanssa
Koska emme ole menneet naimisiin ei meillä ole virallista vuosipäivää,
mutta olemme kuitenkin laittaneet kalenteriin päivämäärän 18.2.
sillä on meille henkilökohtaisesti erityinen merkitys
Onpa aika todellakin lentänyt,
mutta täällä sitä ollaan onnellisina yhdessä
Ja mikä voisikaan olla näin myrskyisenä sunnuntaina mukavampaa
kuin köllöttää peiton alla Minin kanssa ♥
(meillä on myös meneillään kiva projekti
jota seuraa pian vauvan oikean nimen paljastus!)

Mini Is Here With Us

Our small baby boy was born on January 13th at 6.09am.
He was 3120 g and 50 cm at the time of birth.
It was our special, lucky day!
In this photo he is six days old *smile*
We are very much looking forward to this new challenge and
opportunity to enrich our daily life.
We'll reveal his name a little bit later.

Meille syntyi pieni poika tammikuun 13. päivä klo 6.09.
Hän oli 3120 g ja 50 cm syntymähetkellään.
Onnen päivä!
Tässä kuvassa hän on kuuden päivän ikäinen.
Otamme innolla tämän uuden haasteen ja mahdollisuuden
arjen rikastuttamiseksi vastaan.
Kerromme hänen nimensä vasta hetken päästä.

Hi friends,
Just a little update...
I'm about one week from my due date,
we are anxiously waiting for the baby here.
In fact, I'm heading to another check up at the hospital today.
They want to keep an eye on me because of my high blood pressure levels
I don't know yet how long they will keep me there.
It can be that I'll return home with the baby, it's possible.

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year!
Karuski shop takes a small break but I'm still here.
I try to post news and updates soonish.
Please stop by every now and then...


Pieni päivitys blogiini...
Laskettuun aikaani on enää noin viikko,
odottelemme täällä innolla uutta tulokastamme.
Itseasiassa joudun tänään lähtemään sairaalaan seurantaan,
enkä vielä tiedä jäänkö sinne
vai pääsenkö vielä käymään kotona ennen H-hetkeä.
Saattaahan olla, että palaan kotiin vasta vauvan kanssa.

Siis hyvää uutta vuotta itse kullekin!
Karuskin kauppa on tauolla, mutta minä olen yhä täällä.
Koitan kirjoitella tänne uutisia ja kuulumisia aika ajoin
joten tulethan taas vierailulle...

Merry Christmas!

What makes your Christmas special?
Do you like to follow traditions or come up with new ideas each time?

One tradition we follow with H is that we never buy a Christmas tree.
Instead I sometimes get a tiny ever green mini cypress in a pot. It brings lots of joy for a long time. I like to place fruits such as oranges, lemons and pears in a beautiful bowl or cake stand. They make lovely decoration and are edible which is great. I love to put candles on tables and fresh flowers bring cozy atmosphere, too.

We don't buy or make many gifts to each other but a few thoughtful packages are enough. What I love the most is the wrapping part! I gather recycled pieces of paper, string and make gift tags out of cardboard. It's very simple and eco-friendly, personal too. I'd say all those things I mentioned are already my own traditions I loosely follow each year, they just feel *me*. Oh, and I like to bake gingerbread cookies and a couple of cakes as well. H luckily takes care of most cooking stuff here.

Mikä tekee sinun joulusta erityisen?
Seuraatko perinteitä vai tykkäätkö ideoida uusia juttuja joka vuosi?

Meille on muodostunut perinteeksi se, että emme hanki joulukuusta. Sen sijaan ostan toisinaan pienen ikivihreän ruukkupuun josta on iloa pitkäksi aikaa. Asettelen hedelmiä kulhoon tai kakkustandiin, laitan pöydille kynttilöitä sekä tuoreita kukkia. Niistä saa aikaan melko ihanan tunnelman.

Meillä ei ole tapana antaa isoa määrää lahjoja toisillemme, mutta muutama tarkkaan harkittu paketti on kiva antaa ja saada. Parasta on mielestäni paketointi! Käytän vuoden mittaan kertyneitä kierrätettyjä papereita, kääreitä, naruja jne. Niistä saa kauniin yksinkertaisia paketteja jotka eivät rasita turhaan luontoa. Näistä kaikista pienistä jutuista on muotoutunut itselle traditioita joita sovellan vuodesta toiseen. Myös leipomispuuhat ovat osa jouluani, piparit ja pari kakkua täytyy tehdä. H on meillä onneksi ensisijainen kokkausvastaava.

Homemade Holiday Cards

Hi there!

I'm kind of late with my Christmas cards but this is what I'm making today:
holiday greeting cards with recycled cardboards!

We have stored lots of shipping material including recycled cardboards.
These are the most useful for a card project like this. Now, all I need is a paper cutter, few color pencils and a black pen. And a punch for some extra gift tags.

I wrote the recipient's mailing address on the reverse so the envelopes were not needed here.

Hieman viime tingassa olen joulukorttieni kanssa, mutta vielä tänään ehtii lähettämään edullisemmalla jouluhinnalla joten eikun toimeen!

Kaapista löytyi iso kasa pakkaus- ja postitusmateriaaleja kuten kierrätettyä pahvia ja se sopii

korttiprojektiin vallan mainiosti. Leikkaaminen käy helposti paperileikkurilla, lisäksi tarvitaan vain värikyniä ja musta tussi. Lisäksi myös rei'itin mikäli ylijäämäpaloista haluaa tehdä pakettikortteja.

Kirjoitin vastaanottajan tiedot takapuolelle, kuoria ei tarvittu. 

Mukavaa joulun odottelua itse kullekin!

Around My Home

Hello friends!

Last weekend I participated in a design market in Turku
There was an amazing fashion show of upcoming designers
and the atmosphere of the whole event was inspiring, loved it!

It can be that I wont be making fairs or markets around
the holiday season so this was probably my last one this year
The reason is, we're expecting a baby to arrive in mid January
so I want to take it easy and avoid planning too much

Perhaps I have some extra time for my Etsy shop now?

joten tämä saattoi olla vuoden viimeinen myyntitapahtumani

Meille on tulossa tammikuun puolen välin tienoilla uusi perheenjäsen

ja tämä on syy ottaa joulun alla rauhallisesti liikoja suunittelematta

Mutta ehkäpä nyt olisi enemmän aikaa Etsy-kaupalleni?
