I think It's Ready Now

Hello, it's a new day!

Rain or shine I'm pretty busy sewing and making this week
yesterday I made some small changes to the structure
of this new envelope clutch I showed you last Sunday.
It has taken hours to put every piece together but
I think it looks quite perfect and works well now.

Once I get a batch of these ready I could list them to my Etsy, too.
Oh, and tomorrow Wednesday I'll be at Kimara's shoppe in Helsinki,
stop by and say hello if you're in town!

New Work: Envelope Clutch

Hi,

It's been a while since I wanted to create an envelope clutch
but came up with a nice design just this weekend
so here are the first pictures of my new piece.
What is great about this design is that this clutch
closes with a zipper (everything stays securely inside)
but has also a beautiful flap with a magnet closure
which gives detailed finishing touch to this piece.
Both inner and outer fabrics have been reinforced
so the clutch holds its shape nicely.

Besides sewing I strolled in the woods for hours yesterday
we went for mushroom hunting and found lots of chanterelles
so I bet we'll make chanterelle soup (maybe even a quiche) today.

I hope you're enjoying your weekend, too!

New Work: Pouches & Clutches

It's already midweek and this is my first post this week!

Here in Karuski studio it's been a joyful day.
I finished a bunch of *new* pouches + a couple of clutches, too.

These pouches are useful for carrying small things such as
-change
-keys
-phone
-make up

Almost all of these new darlings
have a sweet little button embellishment.
Of course.

Happy New Things

Last few days I've been trying to make friends with my sewing machine and succeeded partly. Here are two new pieces I got photographed today. A couple of linen purses will be finished tomorrow so stay tuned!

Cotton candy features a lovely hand crocheted vintage lace and silk buttons

Summer meadow with some Scandinavian bloom print, cute button + ribbon

Apple blossoms are blooming in our garden now

Totally unplanned I made this triple bloom headband today

This piece I will keep for myself but could consider making more for my shoppe

Funny thing is I wanted to book a hairdresser for this week but mine had her schedule already full so I totally failed to have a haircut as desired. Perhaps this inspired me to make a hair adornment? Anyways this piece will be useful and pretty for several occasions for sure. I already know I will wear it for my cousin's wedding this summer. Now need to find a sweet dress to match the headband...

Have a lovely week everyone!

Sakura Inspiration

During the Easter I came up with a new design. The best part is that it happened by accident. I was cutting fabrics for other purse and something went wrong. I guess my mind was wandering around and I wasn't concentrating. But happily this resulted in something new! I'm glad to say that the first one is sold by now, another one is available here.

The linen here is something I found in Tallinn, Estonia a couple of years ago but didn't use until now. It's not recycled but I consider it quite eco-friendly though. I'm matching upcycled sakura and other flower prints with the solid color fabric. Blue, light & charcoal gray linens + floral print patterns. I never get tired of flowers, no matter if they exist in the nature, photo or fabric. Maybe you'll also get inspired by the picture of blooming cherry blossoms I took back in Japan? I hope so!
